The Tambopata National Reserve is one of the world's richest ecosystems in terms of biodiversity. Each year there are numerous research projects base on the study of the wildlife. This programme is base on the monitoring and study of birds, mammals, reptiles and unknow species. Each program is managed for a professional biologist and support for professional guides with a high experience on the zone. This is a 14 days program as minimum.
Research Expeditions :
you don't need a previous experience or knowledge to participate in this programme but a great interest in learn and participate in the research projects developed during the year in the Amazon Rainforest. Each programme is 10 days with a cost of $680.00 per person. No more than 15 persons each programme. The ones who want to do 2 programmes can stay 10 additional days for free as a volunteer, helping the next group or participating in similar activities. It incluyes lodging, meals, transportation by boat or bus, training, All participants of this programme have a special discounts in our Inka trekking and Peru Classic program.
Individual Projects:
Research proposals should be sent to our Environmental Affairs Advisor for review. WASAI keeps a regular research program inventory of environmental impact monitoring of selected flora and fauna taxa. In order to avoid projects interfering with each other and to facilitate research efforts in various ways, it is very important to co-ordinate research activities.
Our lodging fees is US$45.00 per person each day. Depending on the research, WASAI offers research scholarships to suitably qualified or recommended investigators.
